MEND supports Change4Life

MEND is delighted to be a National Third Sector Partner of the Department of Health’s Change4Life campaign.

MEND supports Change4Life by providing free healthy living programmes for children and their families in their local community.

MEND’s fun healthy living programmes support Change4Life by teaching families how to eat better and move more, so they can feel fitter, healthier and happier for life.

The MEND Programme incorporates Change4Life’s behavioural messages of swapping sugary drinks and unhealthy snacks for healthier ones, age-appropriate portions (i.e. smaller portions for smaller tummies), eating ‘5 a day’, increasing fibre in your diet and reducing sedentary behaviour.

MEND works with local, regional and national partners to deliver over 350 MEND programmes per term across the UK which have benefitted over 15,000 families.

MoreActive4Life

MEND is also supporting MoreActive4Life and has partnered with the Fitness Industry Association (FIA) to produce a facilitated self-help healthy living programme for adults.

The More Active Health Programme is a six week programme designed by nutrition and psychology experts and delivered by fitness and sports coaches to support people in adopting healthy living habits.

Free teaching resources

MEND also provides free classroom resources for teachers.  MEND’s Move It! teaching resource supports Change4Life by encouraging children to take part in physical activity both at home and in school - and teaching them all about moving more.

The free Move It! teaching packs sold out just days after they were launched, with 250,000 packs requested by teachers across the UK. All resources are now available free online at www.mendmoveit.org
